Collaborations with Other Institutions

The Civil Engineering department has fruitful collaboration with premier organizations in the country to provide practical exposure to faculty, staff, and students as well as enhance the research output of the department and industry–academia linkages. The details of collaborations are as follows:

Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (HPPWD)

February 18, 2021, onwards

JUIT will provide consultancy for the following works for HPPWD:

  • Inspection visit to 20 bridges.
  • Prepare bimonthly inspection report.
  • Testing of samples.
  • Observations during visit.
  • Site photographs.

HPPWD will pay agreed upon amount per visit.

National Highway Authority of India (NHAI)

July 16, 2021, to July 16, 2026
  • NHAI will familiarize JUIT faculty, researchers, and students with the latest industry trends, to enhance industry–academic linkage and increase research output.
  • JUIT will adopt national highway stretches to be used for research.
  • NHAI will offer paid internships of fixed stipends to 40 undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee

November 28, 2022, to November 28, 2027
  • Organizing joint conferences and seminars.
  • Practical training of JUIT students at CBRI–CSIR and vice versa.
  • Joint guidance of student projects/thesis in various fields.
  • Admission of CBRI–CSIR scientists/technical officers to the post graduate programs at JUIT.
